WSAI Cincinnati - Here I am living on the air in Cincinnati. This was spring of 1979 shortly after arriving at WSAI from Nashville. Doing the Afternoon Drive show 3-7 pm.
KITY San Antonio - This is a highlight overview of KITY San Antonio, featuring the on-air lineup and voiced by Program Director Dan Daly...my boss and mentor in 1972.
Memphis in 1983 - Patty was pregnant with our son Mark and we had just moved to Memphis from Cincinnati. WMC 79 was #1, during a time when FM dominated AM radio.
Memphis / Chicagoland Compilation - More of my afternoon show at WMC in Memphis and then a taste of a weekend shift I did at WKKD in the Chicagoland area after I joined RCA records. I couldn't get the on-air radio bug out of my system.
Turner Tips Year End Review - CAUTION! ADULT CONTENT - While in Chicago at RCA as a Regional Promo Manager, I would send my radio clients an audio "Year In Review". It was the best of my monthly Turner's Tipsheet for the year in 1987.
Music Business Radio - I was a guest on a weekly syndicated program called "Music Business Radio". It aired in Nashville on Lightning 100. Recorded in 2006 while I was VP of Radio Marketing for Lyric Street Records. - Part 1

WKKD Chicago Airchecks 1985 part 1 - About a year after relocating to Chicago, to work record promotion for RCA. I still had the radio bug to be ON-The-Air so I did some part time work at WKKD in Aurora. It was a Classic Hits format. Not too far from our home in Naperville in the west Chicago suburbs. Here are a few samples from 1985 -

KONO Newscasts 1973 - In late 1973, KITY-FM changed music formats from Country to Adult Standards. The DJ staff was let go, except for me. I was invited to stay and be the 7-midnight newsman for KONO, the Top 40 sister station. So here is a sample of a couple of 5 minute newscasts. I was a horrible news reader...but hey, it was a paycheck!
WTHI - Joe Garigiola I loved my years at WTHI radio in Terre Haute, Indiana! We had the highest rated morning show in the state back in the mid 70's
Let's begin with a couple of promotion liners from the late Joe Garigiola. Joe did a sports commentary every morning on the NBC Radio Network which WTHI carried. Joe recorded customized spots for me.
WTHI - Morning Show Here is a typical Morning Show or "Wake Up Show" back in my "Hoosier" years at WTHI. Followed by some samples of my commercial production. I used this Air Check to try and secure my next job at WKDA in Nashville.
WTHI - Kotex Blooper Here is my on-air blooper when I mistakingly tried to give away Kotex during a contest.
WTHI - Cork Softshoe Cork McCorghue was a very nice man who did the first hour of my radio show each morning on WTHI. He was a native of Terre Haute and knew everybody! He would be the weatherman plus read all the Agri-Business Reports...you know, the opening grain prices and the hog commodity orders and prices, ets. One morning we decided to create a little theatre of the mind and have cork do a soft shoe dance on the air, right in front of our studio window on the Ohio Street of course, it was all done by sound effects. What fun memories! Live and local radio!
